The new improved iProtect 1206i is one of a new class of a budget counter surveillance bug sweeping devices, offering more sophistication at a keener price.
High Sensitivity – Sophisticated Analysis
Unlike most typical radio frequency searching devices this product can specifically identify modern ‘hidden’ bugs which use such protocols as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. These types of bug, especially Bluetooth devices, are practically undetectable by the majority of other lower priced RF detectors. This is because this type of bug has very low transmission output power and a special type of modulation. The iProtect 1206i uses a separate channel with a high, (2.44 GHz) frequency pre-selector to detect and locate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with a much higher sensitivity. The unit also then processes the demodulated signal in order to identify which protocol has been detected.
Detects Commonly Used Bugging Devices
In addition the unit can detect all types of ‘conventional’ bugging devices (FM-modulated transmitters, UHF Transmitters, digital transmitters, GSM-bugs, etc.) using its distinctive features, which include active correlation that is effectively for inspecting high potential bug locations using probing sound impulses, while monitoring the ‘demodulation’ bar graph feature.
Various Operational Modes and LED Displays
This superb counter surveillance unit is also able to distinguish types of digital transmission: GSM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and DECT. It has 4 working modes: silent / sound / vibration / mixed and has a wide dynamic range thanks to the 16-segment bar graph. This latest version includes the extra antenna allowing the device to avoid interference from external sources in cities or near broadcasting towers etc. and thereby pinpoint the source of transmitted frequencies within the environment being scanned.
Excellent Quality – Reasonable Price
The 1206i is solidly made with a metal enclosure and other excellent quality materials. It is supplied in a presentation case together with changeable antenna and a set of batteries to get started. This unit is the most sophisticated product available in our ‘budget’ range of bug detectors, with more than ample features for the needs of checking a home or small office for a low or standard level of bugging threat.

Will this device find all radio frequency bugs?
The Profinder 1206i unit has 2 frequency ranges, up to is designed to pick up most commonly available bugs that operate in these frequency ranges. Because it has dual focus capability it is able to concentrate on specific ranges and therefore offers good sensitivity and some more general RF scanners.
Can the Profinder 1206i unit detect voice recorders?
No, voice recorders to not transmit a frequency and therefore cannot be detected by RF detection equipment. A Non-Linear Junction Detector is the only type of device that can detect this type of bugging device. This is why physical search is paramount.
Can the Profinder 1206i detect wireless cameras?
This product is able to detect wireless cameras that transmit on 1.2GHz and has a dedicated 2.4GHz range, but does not cover the rare 5.8GHz wireless cameras. it is not sensitive enough to detect RF from 3G camera units. If 3G cameras are a viable threat then a unit that focuses on 3G signals is required.
Can I hear through the device when an audio bug is detected?
The Profinder 1206i does have audio demodulation, so this is possible if an analogue bug is detected.
Will the Profinder 1206i easily detect tracking devices?
It is possible to use this product to identify tracker transmissions. However we offer other devices with burst bug detection or dedicated GSM/3G ranges that are ideal for tracking devices that transmit data bursts.
