The Sound Shark is a great alternative to shotgun microphones. The Sound Shark's collector amplifies sound by focusing sound energy onto a single point. This allows the Sound Shark to zero in on your subject while rejecting unwanted ambient noise.

This kit includes a high quality lapel microphone built by Microphone Madness (with 3.5 mm TRS connector), and wind cover to reduce wind noise even more than normal. The Sound Shark is provided with a flash shoe adapter so it can be mounted directly to your camera. You can also remove the adapter and mount the Sound Shark to any device, such as a tripod or light stand, with a 1/4-20 threaded stud. The Sound Shark is also available with an XLR microphone (search for "Sound Shark Equalized Microphone Kit") or with no microphone at all (search for "Sound Shark Microphone".) Our kits are recommended as the microphone has been proven to work well with the Sound Shark.

 

This professional level microphone comes with a 3.5mm connector that will work with most cameras and digital recorders and provides dual mono signals. The dual mono connector provides the signal from the microphone to both channels of your stereo recording device.  This microphone itself requires a bias voltage of 1 to 9 volts D.C. (also known as plug-in-power) and can be used with most cameras and recorders on their own.

 

The Sound Shark provides a great alternative to shotgun microphones. (Because of the feedback caused by it's high sensitivity, it is not recommended for sound reinforcement / PA applications.)

 

The Sound Shark can capture audio from 30 feet, or more, compared to 3 to 5 feet for a typical shotgun mic.

 

Record a speaker from up to 6 feet as if they were wearing a lapel mic.

 

Reject more peripheral sound than a shotgun microphone, and record outdoors with much less wind noise

 

A high quality omni-directional lapel mic with 3.5mm TRS connector is included in this kit (requires plug-in power)
